I don't know the Clay jones mods but you can add a tru bypass easily if you know what you do. Find the output and input signal(the jacks), cut the track, solder a wire to the input signal to the switch, do the same thing for the ouput signal. Them, solder two wires to the cut tracks for input/output effect.you get it.The problem may be you'll loose the bypass flashing led. I mean the leds will still flash but all the time (the electronic bypass will be on 'ON' all the time because of the try bypass switch). But In my opinion isn't an easy mod, like I said, you must know what you do.In other hands, with schematic and Knowledges, I'm sure you can find some imporvements for the buffers to take off the 'tone suck' of that pedal (that seems really cool and funny) without installing another switch.Fuzzo. Click to expand. To me that makes sense if you are trying to mimic a real ambient sound, that is using the monkey to imitate a cranked amp, the Rotovibe to imitate a physical rotating speaker being driven by the amp, and the delay to imitate acoustic echoes inside the room where the rotating speaker is playing.Isn't the Bad Monkey electronically switched?
I'd think that would isolate the Rotovibe so it doesn't load the guitar's pickups. So if it's stil altering the sound when bypassed, does that mean the problem isn't impedance loading but instead, the signal is being passed through a stage that degrades it even if the signal is buffered? To be honest, its been awhile since i tried just the Dunlop Rotovibe to see if it is coloring sound when off. It seems OK but what I was interested in what people are doing to these pedals and why and i figure true bypass won't hurt anything.i think I will put the bad monkey after the okko diablo and crunchbox and see what happens as that makes a bit more sense.but the rotovibe placement. Hmm.oh and I forgot but I run all this off of a big SKB pedal board that sends power to everything but I don't use the buffered input. I don't feel a need.my next experiment is running the board into my Retro 50 with the Orange 2x12 and a Motion Sound leslie box and I am gonna try an Ernie Ball stereo panning pedal.I think with the ROTOVIBE I may be able to induce seasickness and vertigo with this setup. I have a recently purchased Rotovibe.

After a few days of messing with it I decided I wasn't getting a 'thick' enough Leslie sound for me, so I rehoused a BYOC chorus in the Rotovibe case. Everything seems much more pleasing to my ears. I had some issues getting everything to fit right at first, but the only problem I'm still having is that the rate pot being turned by the treadle occasionally moves when I depress the treadle due to the smaller diameter shaft of the BYOC pot. I'm thinking of switching the rate pot that came with the BYOC kit with the one the Rotovibe uses.
I'm not sure if rehousing would be something you'd want to do, but I'm pretty happy with mine. Just my $.02As an aside, does anyone know if I would have any problems (ie-change in tone, etc.) if I swapped out the pots from the two pedals? Final fantasy x 2 international codebreaker codes. I haven't looked in to doing it that much, just an idea I had yesterday in class.
